Complaint against Changlang ADC
ITANAGAR, Jul 09: The Tutsa community of Changlang district is upset with ADC Changlang.
They alleged that the ADC on July 5 had issued ST certificates, to some youths belonging to Tutsa of Phungsa and Changra villages, describing Tutsa as one of the sub tribes of Tangsa community. The youths had approached the ADC to obtain relaxation certificate for a recruitment rally of Assam Rifles.
Angered by the situation, the community has lodged a complaint against the ADC with Changlang DC demanding clarification on the issue with written apology to the community.
Alleging that the wrong depiction of the tribe was done intentionally, they said, despite knowing the fact that Tutsa tribe is a recognized Scheduled Tribe of the state, he went ahead to declare it as a sub tribe of Tangsa which is wrong. They further demanded immediate transfer from the district as he has ‘mentally and socially disturbed the tribe’.
In another release while reiterating similar concern, the All Tutsa Students’ Union (ATSU) and All Tutsa Welfare Society (ATWS) have condemned the district administration.
It is a well known fact that the two tribes Tangsa and Tutsa living in Changlang district belong to two different communities. They are distinctively different from each other, ethnically and linguistically, it stated.
We urge the district administration to issue new ST certificates in correct format, it said adding, we are extremely hurt by the act. It also requested the DC and the local MLA to look into the matter.

DC claims bandh will be defied
ITANAGAR, Jul 09: All the market and business establishments in Capital Complex will remain open and vehicles ply as usual on July 11. This assurance was given to Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner by the representatives of market welfare committees of both Itanagar and Naharlagun, transport federations, petrol depot associations etc. in a meeting held in connection with the propose July 11 bandh call given by Capital Complex Unit of All Nyishi Youth Association at his office here today, according to an official release.
According to the release, the organizations have assured full cooperation to the district administration to defy the proposed bandh call by keeping shutters of their business establishments open and ply vehicles as usual on the day of bandh.
The District Administration has already declared the bandh illegal. It has also instructed the police to make elaborate security arrangements during the bandh day to prevent any bandh related untoward incident as well as ensure normal life of common people. Appreciating the support of the associations, the DC hoped that Bandh call would be effectively neutralized with the cooperation of all as has been done in the last few occasions.
The DA also sough support and cooperation from all stakeholders of capital complex to make the given bandh call a huge failure so that the city could get rid of the menace of bandh culture.

Aged 25 years Tamin is resident of Byasi village under Sangram PS, Kurung Kumey district. He was arrested from Nitivihar area.

Mass transfer but yet no relievers in East Kameng

ITANAGAR, Jul 09: It seems that state education department’s much touted slogan, “quality education” has shrunk to lips only, as it’s transfer and posting system remains a “bewildering process” beyond the understanding of common people.
In a stark revelation made today, East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) claimed that three school principals, forty one junior and senior teachers and fifty assistant teachers have been transferred from the district since last twelve years but no relievers have been sent against them so far.
With document obtained from the education department, EKSWCO disclosed that once a teacher is transferred from the district, the authority never sends reliever against the said teacher. It also claimed that most of the schools in the district are running by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan teachers. It is said the education department has been maintaining this tradition since last twelve years.
The district parental organization expressed its shock and anguish over the treatment of the education department towards the district.

DA distributes compensation to Highway affected people

ITANAGAR, Jul 09: The Papum Pare district administration today handed over compensation money for construction of four lane highway from Itanagar to Hollongi. The compensation was disbursed at the office of Land Revenue & Settlement Officer (LRSO) Yupia under tight security. Altogether 235 affected people were distributed compensation to the tune of Rs 11 crore 70 lakh. The amount was distributed in both cheque and cash.
For the convenient of citizens, those receiving below 1 lakh were given cash money in return of cheque issued against them. The administration set up movable bank to distribute cash. The officials of Punjab National Bank (PNB) who was part of movable bank distributed the cash.

Rubber exploration can boost state’s economy :RBI

TARAJULI, Jul 09: Rubber is a cash crop having the potential to make the rural economy of Arunachal Pradesh robust, Rubber Board of India joint commissioner (rubber production), Sunny Varghese today said.
Addressing progressive farmers including from Roing at the Maj Rubber Nursery and Plantation (MRNP) here, 25 km from Itanagar, he explained the secret of rubber.
“Rubber plant produces latex in six to seven years which has similarity with cow milk for colloid content. This white gold turns into money after processing”, he said, adding 500 plants cultivated in one hectare of land with a cost of Rs 2.4 lakh could generate Rs 2.5 lakh annually.
“Take up as much land you have and expand slowly as its income would be sustainable with ready global market waiting for the produce. Rubber consumption is linked to the level of development of any nation,” he informed.

Impressed by the demonstration plantation spread in 200 acres that gave him the first hand experience about rubber, Urban Development Minister Rajesh Tacho reiterated the GoAP’s commitment to facilitate rubber and tea cultivation on mission mode to solve unemployment problem as announced by the CM.
“Arunachal has massive land resources whose proper utilization would make the state a rubber hub to benefit the masses, the way its hydropower potential has projected it as the future power house of India,” he said with conviction.

DAPORIJO, Jul 09: Destruction of public property and encroachment of Govt. land in Daporijo are so rampant that the encroachers have not even spared the burial cum cremation ground.
The district administration along police with police recently inspected the burial ground following reports of encroachment and evicted the encroachers from the burial ground. The District Administration destroyed the ‘plantation’ and wooden posts erected to demarcate the land encroached.
Some people had even written their name on the boundary wall along with the date on which they occupied the certain plot of land within the burial ground to claim ownership.
Boundary wall of the cremation ground was also destroyed and dismantled from every side by the encroachers and built pig sheds to rear pigs within the burial ground.
The cremation cum burial ground was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.243.97

TAWANG, Jul 09: A District level symposium cum seminar on the works of the 6th Dalai Lama Gyalwa Tseyang Gyatso was held on July 5 last at Urgelling Gompa Tawang.
It was organized by the Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik Affairs, Govt of A.P.
On the occasion, Department of Karmik & Adhyatmik Affairs (DoKA), Chairman T G Rimpoche, said “We must take pride in the fact that the 6th Dalai Lama was born in Urgelling Tawang. The place is blessed to have been the birth place of the highest spiritual leader of Buddhism”. He urged everyone to propagate the beauty of such places and the district.

Pema visits Bodhgaya after serial blast
BODHGAYA, Jul 09: Tourism and RWD Minister Pema Khandu today visited Bodhgaya’s Buddhist temple, which was rocked by nine serial blasts on July 7.
Pema arrived in Bodhgaya at around 8 am from New Delhi today and drove straight to all blast sites.
After inspecting the blast sites, the young Minister had discussion with the Secretary of Bodhi Temple Management Committee and Lama Kunga Sotop, Secretary Tergar monastery.
The Minister also had discussion with B Murgan, DM Gaya and SP of Gaya city on various security measures to be adopted for the securing of the temple premises and safety of pilgrims, particularly those coming from the Arunachal Pradesh.
Pema also met two persons from Tibet and Myanmar who sustained injuries in the blast and donated few amount for their further treatment and wished them fast recovery.
Pema accompanied Lamas and Bantes (Buddhist monks) in the peace prayer organized at the temple.
There was no damage to Mahabodhi temple and Terger Monastery where bombs were planted. The outer cordon of security has been taken charge of by the Bihar Police and the Bihar CM has already initiated talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for deputing CISF for overall security of the Mahabodhi temple.

A tribute to beloved Dera Natung

The people of East Kameng district have successfully celebrated the birth anniversary
of Late Dera Natung on 1st July 2013 at Seppa in honour of his achievements and contribution
to the society and state. Late D. Natung, son of Lt. Sepai Natung and Lt. Yache
Natung, was born on 1st July 1964 at Veo village under Pijerang circle of East Kameng
district in Arunachal Pradesh. He did his primary schooling up to class V at Seppa;
from class VI to X from Sainik School, Imphal, Manipur and Class XI to XII from Govt.
Hr. Sec. School, Bomdila. He completed B.A. from JNC College Pasighat (1882-

I could able to met beloved Dera Natung sir only one time in my life when I was student at Govt. College, Bomdila in the year 2000 that too only for few hours. I was Hostel Prefect of the college; unfortunately, one of the colleagues was arrested by the police on the charges of physical assault, house trespass and extortion case as per FIR lodged by a businessman of Bomdila bazaar line. Chief Judicial Magistrate was not ready to grant the bail to the arrestee. So, he was in police custody for almost one week. Meantime, news spread that Lt. Dera Natung, Minister; Education reached Bomdila. When we got information of his arrival, we entire boarders sought appointment for meeting him to apprise about the arrested case of ours colleague. When we met him and elaborated the matter for persuasion of the magistrate for release of the arrested student, after long patience hearing, he was reluctant to pursue the matter with the DJM for release of the student. He justified that, “That particular student has committed a crime. So, he should be punished as per the stipulated law of the land”. He also, vociferously suggested us not to indulge in unwanted activities which may disturb others right and peaceful atmosphere. He also advised that “Students’ duty is to study and get degree not to indulge in unwanted activities and to create problems for the society. Students should concentrate in their studies with hard works, honesty with full discipline.”
After that meeting, I became your fan, I was inspired by yours valuable suggestions and I learnt beloved Lt. Natung was a man of righteousness and man of peace loving.
He advocated that, “Life is all about winning others’ love and respect, through hard works with honesty, losing bad things and sharing of peaceful atmosphere and happiness with the fellow citizens”.
Sir Dera Natung was an epitome of peace, harmony and brotherhood, he was humble and soft spoken person of the state.
“Sir, your wisdom of winning respect from others, wining everything through humble
attitude with fellow citizens, winning of love and affections from family members,
peer group, colleague and fellow human being as a medium of livelihood is still effective
and relevant even after 13 years of yours heavenly abode. Your ideas of sharing good
things, good knowledge and sharing of crisis collectively inspired many youths. Sir,
you have left for heavenly abode while on mission for noble cause i.e. for cause
of the education and students. But, ours memorable meeting make us unforgettable
to you. Though you left us but yours humble attitude, valuable suggestions will always

World Population Day – A Time for Introspection

World Population Day as the name suggests is observed around the world annually on 11th July to bring awareness about population growth and its related issues. World Population Day was first started on 11th July in 1987, the day World Population reached five billion people. Many organizations around the world celebrate this day by arranging special campaigns and programmes to sensitize people about global population issues and to educate on the need for population stabilization.
World Population may simply refer to total number of living humans on earth. According
to latest estimates of United States Census Bureau (USCB), World Population is estimated
to be 7.023 billion. World Population has witnesses a rapid growth in the last 200
years. Countries like China and India together constitutes 37% of the total World
Population. Also Asia with 4.2 billion people has largest population continent wise.
It accounts for over 60% of the World Population as compared to other continents
around the world. When we glimpse our country – the population in India has increased
more than three times from 350 million in 1947 to 1.15 billion in 2010. As per report

Dree 2013 witnessed a new trend of wireless live broadcasting of events, via AIR Itanagar. This has never been done before in our state prior to Dree 2013, Itanagar. Such media, being affordable resource for common man has successfully reached every home and individual. The ones who reside outside Arunachal and for those who are not able to attend the festive were benefited the most out of it. This kind of live broadcasting of indigenous festival not only reaches every home and individual but also brings love, oneness and harmony amongst the people.

Diploma holder being deprived
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to make request to state Govt. especially engineering department. There is lots of unemployed Surveyor in the state. We appeal to various engineering department to give us first privilege to surveyor diploma holder in the recent recruitment conducted for the post surveyor by PHE & WS.
There is tag of war between the Diploma, degree and surveying diploma holder in said post. We have simple ITI certificate of two years diploma in surveying, but in recruitment exam we sit together with the diploma, degree and master in civil engineering holders for same post and same paper. Is this justice for simple ITI diploma holder? Cab we compete with B. tech and M tech degree holder?
Therefore, I on behalf of Unemployed surveyor appeal Engineering department to give us top priority in surveyor recruitment post and conduct of separate recruitment drive of surveyor. te.

Vigilance is need of the hour

This is with reference to the issue raised by Nabam Nania, Itanagar regarding recruitment, interview by various central government agencies, banks, Financial Institutions etc operating in Arunachal and NER.
There is a need for vigilance and concerted effort by various organizations especially the students based organizations so that the people in the State and in the region get the opportunity and the tendency to cheat may be minimized. For this RTI and legal procedures can be a powerful tool.

Daporijo and its share of woes
Dear Editor,
I wish to bring to the notice of the authorities, concerning the poor condition of
the Roads, Mobile Network and ATM services in our native town, Daporijo which is
one of the most popular and super-
Nowadays we all aware that layout of the communication depends vividly on transportation and telecommunication, without which modern men may suffer a lot in their daily life because it connects whole process and is helpful to reach purposed area through means of communication.
But condition of our native town Daporijo, which is popularly known to entire state as the district headquarter of Upper Subansiri is suffering from this nasty situation since from the time when my optical flash first sight towards the town. Almost all the area has developed deep ditches. It is very difficult to drive or walk whatever your conveyance may be during rains. In particular, water gets stagnant in ditches and it continues to stand there unless dried in sun. The most affected area is juncture of Singik hall, Sikarijo, Gandhi Market and Post Office. Here we can witness the dancing posses (slow motion and whizzing) of person while walking during the rain to evacuate oneself from the flinch of dirty water.
Another facetious matter is Mobile Network Service, “Ahh!” This single word only arose when I think of telecommunication service of Daporijo. Sometimes I feel that the people of this town are using cellular phone just to enjoy the service voice, “ISH SAMAY UFF BOKTA KA NO. PAR CALL SAMBHAV NAHI HAI, KRIPYA TORE DER BAAD DAIL KARE!” Even the text message is delivered after two or three days.
Finally, the problem of ATM (automated teller machine) comes… it’s too does not lack behind to give foray to the citizen of the Daporijo. If it functions for a day then it malfunction for a week, if it functions for a week then malfunction for a month, now you guess…! How it help the people?
Most surprising thing is that, why the people are sitting silence, what happen to the elected leaders, local bodies, where are the students ’ unions and what district administration are doing? I am very confused whom to blame or to whom we seek solution for this matter because all are sitting mum.
Therefore, my deep request to all the public leaders, local MLA, students’ union and administration please look back at the scenario of Daporijo and observe. What deficiency is keeping it backward in comparison to other districts of state and accordingly they should take appropriate action in the matter. My fellow citizens are also requested to wake up and do something for the betterment of tomorrow and to create a new Daporijo with full of peace and prosperity.
